    Patriotic Chocolate Covered Oreos

    If you are looking for a fantastic treat for the upcoming patriotic holidays nothing gets better than our patriotic chocolate covered oreos. They are a lot more simple than they look and your guest will think you took hours!

     

    What you need to make Patriotic Chocolate Covered Oreos:

     

    • 1 bag of white chocolate melting wafers
    • 1 package of double stuffed oreos
    • 1 container of patriotic sprinkles
    • 1 tub of blue cookie icing
    • 1 tub of red cookie icing
    • 1 cookie sheet
    • parchment paper fitted to the cookie sheet
    • double boiler

    How to make Patriotic Chocolate Covered Oreos:

    1. Dip oreo into the white chocolate after it has been fully melted in the double boiler and place on the parchment paper on top of the cookie sheet.

    2. Take the blue icing and drizzle over the oreos

    3. Take the red icing and drizzle over the oreos after allowing the blue frosting to dry for 1 minute or so.

    4. Sprinkle a tiny amount of the patriotic sprinkles on to the oreos.

    5. Let dry and enjoy!

    Patriotic Chocolate Covered Oreos

    A fun patriotic twist on chocolate covered oreos. 

    Ingredients

    • 1 bag of white chocolate melting wafers
    • 1 package of double stuffed oreos
    • 1 container of patriotic sprinkles
    • 1 tub of blue cookie icing
    • 1 tub of red cookie icing 

    Tools:

    1 cookie sheet

    parchment paper fitted to the cookie sheet

    Instructions

    1. Fill the bottom of the double boiler halfway with water
    2. Place it on the stove at medium to high heat and wait for it to boil
    3. Place the second pot on top of the bottom pot 
    4. Pour in the bag of the white chocolate into the top pot
    5. Using a rubber spatula, mix until the chocolate is melted
    6. Dip an oreo into the chocolate
    7. Using a fork, coat the oreo in the chocolate until fully coated and use the fork to lift the oreo out of the chocolate
    8. Lightly tap the edge of the pot so that the extra chocolate can drip off
    9. Place oreo on to the cookie sheet
    10. Repeat steps 6-9 with the remaining oreos until all of the chocolate is used
    11. Let the oreos set for 10 minutes before decorating
    12. Take the blue icing and drizzle over the oreos
    13. Take the red icing and drizzle over the oreos
    14. Sprinkle the patriotic sprinkles sparingly onto the oreos 
    15. Let sit for another 10-15 minutes before enjoying! 

    Notes

    You can also use a chocolate melting pot to melt the chocolate, just make sure it stays at a consistent temperature.
