Patriotic Chocolate Covered Oreos
A fun patriotic twist on chocolate covered oreos.
Ingredients
- 1 bag of white chocolate melting wafers
- 1 package of double stuffed oreos
- 1 container of patriotic sprinkles
- 1 tub of blue cookie icing
- 1 tub of red cookie icing
Tools:
1 cookie sheet
parchment paper fitted to the cookie sheet
double boiler
Instructions
- Fill the bottom of the double boiler halfway with water
- Place it on the stove at medium to high heat and wait for it to boil
- Place the second pot on top of the bottom pot
- Pour in the bag of the white chocolate into the top pot
- Using a rubber spatula, mix until the chocolate is melted
- Dip an oreo into the chocolate
- Using a fork, coat the oreo in the chocolate until fully coated and use the fork to lift the oreo out of the chocolate
- Lightly tap the edge of the pot so that the extra chocolate can drip off
- Place oreo on to the cookie sheet
- Repeat steps 6-9 with the remaining oreos until all of the chocolate is used
- Let the oreos set for 10 minutes before decorating
- Take the blue icing and drizzle over the oreos
- Take the red icing and drizzle over the oreos
- Sprinkle the patriotic sprinkles sparingly onto the oreos
- Let sit for another 10-15 minutes before enjoying!
Notes
You can also use a chocolate melting pot to melt the chocolate, just make sure it stays at a consistent temperature.
