When we moved from New England to Illinois, one of the worst things was leaving our local sandwich chain behind. It was our trusty go-to when mom flaked on dinner or was just too tired to pick up a pot. The kids all had their favorites, steak and cheese, meatball and tuna!
We finally settled in here and began looking for new places to haunt. After a few weeks, we stumbled on PotBelly. The first thing you notice when you walk into the shop is the cool, relaxed vibe.
There are many variations to choose from and my kids at the time had wide eyes looking at the menu. Now they walk into PotBelly and know right away what they want. One of their favorite things about having cars and open lunches at school is they get to have a PotBelly Lunch now!
Now when I have nights that I just can’t cook, we jump in the car or have it delivered! We were blessed with a PotBelly right down the road a few years ago.
With the PotBelly Perks app we can now get the sandwiches and my favorite baked potato soup delivered right to us. I also use the app to order our dinner and my husband just picks it up on his way home.
If you haven’t tried a PotBelly Sandwich and you live in Chicago…..go now. My favorite is A Wreck. It’s wonderful, meaty, Swiss cheesy goodness.
If you are a pizza person like me, you also have to try the Pizza Sandwich. One word, well two – melted provolone. Need I say more?
I could go on and on about the sandwiches! I love that they now how soup and sandwich combos too to choose from and “skinny” sandwiches for when you are actually trying to watch your weight. 😉
Believe it or not, the shakes are amazing. I am not really a shake person but their coffee shake is so good it should be illegal. It always makes me happy to get my shake and have the little butter cookies on my straw.
It’s silly but it brings back childhood memories and if I am having a bad day, it cheers me up a bit. 🙂
