    New Year New You

A lot of people I know say that every day is a new day, a fresh start and to use January 1st of the new year is silly. I disagree. I need the symbolism. To me, it’s a jumping off point. It’s a definitive date that I can say is the day I will start something that I have been putting off, liking seriously taking care of myself. I can honestly say that the entire year of 2016 I was in a funk. I was sick, financially strapped and totally NOT taking care of myself. I decided that 2017 was going to be different. My new motto is New Year New You. I have a list of what I want to accomplish this year and tasks that will get me there. Here’s a few that are on the top of my list.

    1. Exercise.

One thing I need to do this year is a lot more yoga. It’s doctor recommended. One of my excuses I used a few years ago was that I couldn’t afford to work out. I needed the right clothes and equipment etc etc. I have used all the excuses in the book. In reality, I was just in too much pain. No that my doctor has found the right cocktail of meds for my body I have no more excuses. Companies like MPG (My Performance, My Lifestyle) have all the yoga gear I need, like the Julianne Hough Collection, for adorable fashion activewear that is made for total comfort and functionality.

MPG’s ‘My Performance, My Lifestyle’ concept is from the brand’s original ethos of creating activewear that retains both a technical and fashion edge.  MPG has developed a line of clothing that seamlessly blends fashion and function, design and performance. You can go from the house to the store to the gym in style. The results are richly detailed pieces with a technical edge — an entire collection unparalleled in conception and construction.

The Julianne Hough Collection offers a variety of pieces that are curated by the adorable Julianne to build a fashionable edge to meet active lifestyles while remaining on-trend and stylish. I am always envious of her style!

    2. Healthy Eating

I never ever thought I would be someone who would embrace a meal delivery service but HelloFresh.com is not like the grocery delivery service of old. I am not going to lie, the days of me cooking dinner every night for the family is over. My kids have crazy schedules and making huge or even healthy dinners is not cost effective anymore. Sometimes it’s just me and my daughter.
    Hello FreshGet It Here
HelloFresh.com gives you easy meals delivered right to your door. I can create healthy meals for the family, I don’t have to waste time deciding what is for dinner and my 10 year old always cleans her plate. It’s so simple. You choose what looks delicious and then let them shop and deliver so you can enjoy all there is to love about cooking and eating from the ever-changing weekly menu. This is so important because my family suffers from meal burnouts. We get stuck in a dinner rut. When we get in a rut, we eat horrible. So this is our next step in New Year New You.

They deliver seasonal, pre-measured ingredients straight to your door. Seriously delicious ingredients you’ll love to eat. Simple recipes you’ll live to cook. It makes you like cooking again! Use the code SHOPSHARE35HF to get $35 Off First Box (New Customers Only) Expires: 1/31/17

    3. Travel

I never travel for anything but work. I recently looked back on the past 5 years of my life and realized that I am always working or doing parenting things. My husband and I want to remedy this now that our kids are older. We seriously need to bank on having a 19 year old!! While it might be a slight stress on our budget sites like TripAdvisor help keep our expenses down by booking discount hotels or by being able to search best airfares.

I was recently looking at vacation rentals because we have never done that! We are always staying at hotels or with friends. I am super excited to plan our vacation. I think it will make my husband and I more well rested, sane people. Work is great because it brings the money in but after awhile you become like a hamster in a ball. Travel helps give you a change of pace, new scenery and a fresh perspective. New Year New You.

    About jen @craftymomof3

I am a "crafty" mom of 3 who has been blogging for 10+ years. I’ve been a product reviewer/influencer on and off, but mostly just write about life and food I love. I’m a dyslexic, an extreme book addict, a total nerd, a fangirl, and a paranormal enthusiast. I am a New Englander at heart but I currently live in the MidWest. I am obsessed with the ocean, food, tech, books, anything supernatural, and although I am hopelessly sarcastic...I am a softy. Oh, and I like coffee. A LOT.
