What you can make with your Cricut is limitless.

One of my favorite things about my Cricut is the limitless ways I can use it. I can make planner pages, signs for my wall, neat little crafts for my kids teachers or personalize many, many objects including my coffee cups. If you have been a follower of my blog, you know how much I love coffee. It is my reason for living besides my family. Any way I can cute my coffee accessories up, I do. I found an awesome file on Etsy that I used with the adhesive foil from Cricut to make my coffee cup look even more fantastic than it already did.

Use custom made files is super easy. Make sure you have the correct file, my Cricut Explore Air seems to work the best with SVG files for cuts. Open the Cricut Design Space, log in and then click on “Create New Project”.

If you are creating a design for a mug like I did, you need to click “Set Canvas” then scroll down to the picture of the mug. It won’t look exactly like your item but one you choose your canvas you can set the size on the right hand side of the design space.

Once you have the canvas open, look to the right hand side where it says canvas and click on it. There you can choose what type of mug you have. On the left there is a section that says Upload Images. Use this to download your file and drop it on your canvas. Move around the image until it’s where you want it. If there are parts of the image you don’t want shown, you can deselect them on the right hand side like I did by clicking on the eye button.

Double and triple check that your design looks like you want it and click the green Cricut Go button to move to the cut screen. Make sure your settings on your Cricut is set to the correct setting for the paper you are using. The adhesive foil I used was under the custom setting and then I chose “adhesive foil”. I have actually fallen in love with the adhesive foil, it’s looks awesome on loads of surfaces.  The gold and brown colors went perfect with my coffee project.

Once it was cut I used my tools to apply the foil to my cup. It was so easy and I am super happy with how it came out. This cup I made to put my kitchen tools in but if you want to make a mug that you can use and wash I highly recommend the outdoor vinyl. I loved this coffee file I found and the designer included backgrounds so that I can make loads of other things for my kitchen to match each other. I have sooo many ideas that I am sure you will see on social media throughout the year. I am so excited to possibly complete my diner look in my kitchen. My Cricut makes my possibilities endless, much to my husband’s delight 🙂 .

I also found a fantastic SVG file on Etsy that I used with my magnetic  sheets from Cricut for my refrigerator. We painted the fridge with chalkboard paint and write little messages to each other so I decided to make one my whole family would see every time they went into the fridge. Make 2017 Awesome. Our 2016 wasn’t great and we had a lot of hard times in 2016, so as a family we have decided that 2017 is going to be our year. It’s a fantastic reminder everyday. We got this.

Do you have a Cricut? What awesome things have you made with it?

    About jen @craftymomof3

I am a "crafty" mom of 3 who has been blogging for 10+ years. I’ve been a product reviewer/influencer on and off, but mostly just write about life and food I love. I’m a dyslexic, an extreme book addict, a total nerd, a fangirl, and a paranormal enthusiast. I am a New Englander at heart but I currently live in the MidWest. I am obsessed with the ocean, food, tech, books, anything supernatural, and although I am hopelessly sarcastic...I am a softy. Oh, and I like coffee. A LOT.
