Women Driving Excellence 2016 – #WDE16 is sponsored by Nissan. Produced by MJ Tam & Beth Rosen of the #ChicagonistaLIVE show in coordination with the Chicago Tribune to be held at the Chicago Auto Show – Women’s Day on Feb. 16, 2015 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at McCormick Place: 2301 S. Lakeshore Drive)
Women Driving Excellence (#WDE16) will return to the Chicago Auto Show for the fourth year. WDE celebrates women who help start, accelerate, fuel, and steer others to excellence. WDE is a fantastic community created to connect entrepreneurial women in business, philanthropy, media, government and community leadership positions. The #WDE16 event was created by my two favorite social media mavens, MJ Tam and Beth Rosen of the popular ChicagonistaLIVE! online talk show. If you follow me on social media you have probably seen us tweeting along live with the show. They are savvy, awesome women who love to highlight other savvy, awesome women. While there are many things that appeal to women at the Chicago Auto Show, they felt a a need for a program that would recognize women who displayed unique vision and talent. Woman that fueled the fire of passion and excitement in the community.
The event will include a full day program honoring brilliant businesswomen in Chicagoland. I am looking forward to attending and learning as much as I can from these fabulous women.
Honoring Trailblazing Women Presentation will be emceed by fabulous Janet Davies-ABC7 News. This year’s honorees are Lisa Madigan-Illinois Attorney General, Marilynn Gardner-Navy Pier President & CEO,Dominique Jordan Turner– Chicago Scholars President & CEO, Kathleen Henson-Henson Consulting Founder & CEO, Dee Alexander– Song Stylist
New this year is a Leading Women in Tech panel that is lead by Katy Lynch, CEO at Techweek, with Elisa All Founder & CEO of 30Second Mobile, and Yana Nirshberg of ParadigmNEXT. There will be a GPS Pitch Engine Competition built in partnership with Inventorz Network Co-Founder Dhana Cohen and will be judged by Jimmy Lee, CEO of Goodcity Chicago, Dahlia Saper of Saper Law and Debi Lilly of A Perfect Event. I am excited to sit in on this, you learn so much from these pitch events. Not only will the entrepreneurs get a chance to pitch their ideas to experts but you also get to hear the critiques and pick up tips for your own business.
This is not something you want to miss if you want to learn, connect with awesome people (myself included) and absorb the best ways to jump start your brand or just hear these fabulous women speak. Event admission is free of charge. Reserved seating and Chicago Auto Show Tickets are available for the first 100 that register for the event. Women Driving Excellence is presented with sponsors including Nissan, Chicago Tribune and Jewel-Osco.
