Brand New International Delight Iced Coffee Sweet & Creamy

So if you have looked around my site a bit you will notice that I am obsessed with coffee. I LOVE coffee. ALL kinds of coffee. Including iced coffee. I’m seriously not a nice person (as my family can attest) with out it. I have been half-seriously trying to figure out how to invent a coffee IV that I could keep with me all day! I am a huge bit of a coffee snob. My favorite hot coffee is Dunkin’ Donuts French Vanilla Coffee. Seriously can’t get better than that.  I also am a fan of lattes. Panera and Starbucks make pretty good lattes.

One type of coffee, as a rule, that I DO NOT like is any kind of pre-made coffees. Not a fan. My husband on the other hand, is. My husband is a truck driver and while he has his favorites, will drink pretty much any kind of coffee given to him. My main reason that I don’t like pre-mades is that they usually contain a lot of added chemicals & artificial flavorings, which I can not have due to an aspartame allergy and chemical in-tolerances due to fibromyalgia and other health issues.

So…I heard about International Delight’s New Iced Coffees and I was given a chance to try them. My husband was completely gung-ho about the whole thing, he loves International Delight’s Creamers and was very anxious to try the iced coffee. I was wary because of the worry of them being pre-made for the above reasons. I opted to try them and see what they were all about.

We got the refrigerated box with 3 different types of iced coffee-Original, Mocha and Vanilla. It also came with an insulated cup. Cool.

I claimed Mocha after reading the label. No chemicals or ingredients I couldn’t have, hooray! My son, who is 14, has decided that he likes coffee. Not straight black coffee, but he had some when we were in Chicago and has decided that it can be good stuff. So I allowed him to try some and he REALLY liked it.

I didn’t have to twist my daughter’s arm because she LOVES the taste of coffee. Her favorite flavors were Mocha and Vanilla. I limit her coffee consumption to a small espresso cup, she is only 11!

My husband wanted me to tell y’all that his favorite thing about this coffee (besides the taste, he really liked the Original..worked out well) is that it is a good tasting coffee that he can throw over ice on his way out the door in the morning, which actually allows him a couple extra minutes to get ready in the morning. He doesn’t have to stop and get some on his way to work. My husband is ALL about convenience in the morning so we will definitely be buying this when it comes out in Walmart stores January 15th.

Me? Loved them. The coffee snob. LOVED them. The iced coffees were creamy, but not in an overpowering way. They had a great taste, especially the Mocha in my opinion, but the coffee left no after taste. I am very excited that I now have a new drink to bring with me to work because I really like to have coffee at work, but since I work with kids, I worry about the heat factor. (I’m a worrier, can you tell?) Plus I won’t have to make it, just pour it right from the carton into my new nifty cup and I’m good to go, out the door! So I have yet another new coffee obsession. 🙂

This iced coffee would be great for recipes, a quick snack, used to make frozen coffee (kinda like frozen hot chocolate) or an after dinner drink. My daughter and I found the perfect combo…International Delight Iced Coffee Mocha flavor and peppermint cookies. Yum. HIGHLY recommend, from our family to yours. 🙂

Cool, delicious drink that can be made to your tastes from: http://www.gourmet-coffeebeans.com/frozen-coffee-drink-recipes/

    Ingredients

    • ice cubes 3 cups
    • brewed coffee 2 cups, chilled
    • sugar 1/3 cup
    • cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
    • chocolate syrup(optional)
    • caramel flavoring(optional)
    • peppermint flavoring(optional)
    • milk 1/2 cup

    Instructions

    1. Simply combine all the ingredients except the milk together in a blender and blend until smooth.
    2. Pour the batch into a small pitcher and add the milk.
    3. Stir thoroughly.
    4. Top with whipped cream, cinnamon, caramel, chocolate etc...to create your own flavor.

    Notes

This recipe can be easily adapted to use the International Delight Iced Coffee. Take out the brewed coffee, sugar and milk! The Iced Coffee already has it all. Place it in the blender with ice and blend until smooth. Add your extras and your done in less than 5 minutes.
