    My review:

I highly recommend this book if you are new to chronic illness or are new to learning how to maintain it. It is a culmination of a lot of research I did in the beginning and it would’ve been helpful to have it back then. Jaime, like me, is a strong believer of mind over matter. While I agree cutting certain foods and chemicals from your diet will alleviate you condition(s), if you don’t want to get better…you won’t. I like the setup of the book. It’s a quick read, the steps are laid out fantastically and in the correct order. It really irks me when I read any type of self help book and they throw too many steps at once. Your body WILL go out of whack if you throw too much at it. I am not a fan of drastic actions when it comes to your body and I was happy see either is Jamie. You need to teach your body how to be well again. It’s not an overnight thing. You will have setbacks and it’s imperative that you have a book in your arsenal that you can reference to get yourself back on track. There is no one way to cure chronic illness and pain. Stuff that worked for me 4 years ago doesn’t work anymore. I have had to improvise and rotate a lot of the steps in this book. If you set yourself up to fail, you will. If you cut yourself some slack and do what you can when you can, you will succeed. Your body is one complicated machine that cannot work if one part is broken. This book helps you suss out what is wrong, how to fix it and how to stay fixed. It has a variety of tools for different types of people and I think will be a good tool to add to any chronic illness sufferers toolbox. Make sure you check with your doctor before adding any supplement or food to your diet though. I do have to say, I like that she recommends turmeric. It is a vastly underused or recommended supplement for chronic pain and stomach issues. It has changed both myself and my husbands digestion and energy enormously.

    About the Author

When I was ten years old somebody asked me, “Jaime, what do you want to do when you grow up?” My immediate answer of, “I want to save the world” drew laughter from my peers and indulgent looks from adults.

Throughout my childhood, I was sick both physically and mentally. I had behavioral problems, difficulty learning, social confusion and terrible physical pain in my stomach, muscles and head. After being taken to doctors for years with inconclusive results, it was finally decided I was simply “making it all up for attention.”

It wasn’t until I was 22 years old that my tireless effort to find out exactly what was wrong with me paid off and I was finally able to say, “I told you I was sick.”

It turned out that food allergies were causing all of my symptoms both mental and physical.

Do you suffer from mystery symptoms too? If so, you’re not alone and you’re not crazy. There is no reason for you to continue to suffer. There are real reasons behind your mystery symptoms.

    About jen @craftymomof3

I am a "crafty" mom of 3 who has been blogging for 10+ years. I’ve been a product reviewer/influencer on and off, but mostly just write about life and food I love. I’m a dyslexic, an extreme book addict, a total nerd, a fangirl, and a paranormal enthusiast. I am a New Englander at heart but I currently live in the MidWest. I am obsessed with the ocean, food, tech, books, anything supernatural, and although I am hopelessly sarcastic...I am a softy. Oh, and I like coffee. A LOT.
