    Daith piercing day 1

I am going to change up my #NaBloPoMo a bit and switch to my other series for today. If you are a follower of my blog you know I have fibro/psoriatic arthritis plus a few other health issues including anxiety/panic. I have tried many, many things – pretty much every med on the planet that is legal, acupuncture – you name it. A friend told me about daith piercings and how they help headaches and anxiety – I was super intrigued. Then a few more of my friends got them and had a lot of success.

    What is a daith piercing?
It is a piercing of the perforation of the small fold of cartilage above the ear canal. A unique type of ear piercing, this one can only be done if you have a well-developed innermost cartilage fold.

Today I got one in each ear. No it didn’t hurt except for my left ear when he pulled the earing out, but I do take fibro meds that dull my nerves. I have a super high pain tolerance anyway so I am not a good judge in that department.

    daith piercing day 1

I am going to try to do a weekly update on how well it is working plus my headache and anxiety level from 1-10. You have to be super diligent and keep it clean because it gets infected easily plus doesn’t heal quickly due to lack of blood flow apparently. So fingers crossed THAT doesn’t happen.

Anybody else out there have a daith piercing? Did it help you?

    About jen @craftymomof3

I am a "crafty" mom of 3 who has been blogging for 10+ years. I’ve been a product reviewer/influencer on and off, but mostly just write about life and food I love. I’m a dyslexic, an extreme book addict, a total nerd, a fangirl, and a paranormal enthusiast. I am a New Englander at heart but I currently live in the MidWest. I am obsessed with the ocean, food, tech, books, anything supernatural, and although I am hopelessly sarcastic...I am a softy. Oh, and I like coffee. A LOT.
