Lately I have been amazed with the internet.
Between the Gosselin’s and Balloon Boy, now OctoMom again, you would think that there was nothing else going on in the world.
There are tons of opinions flying every where left and right.
Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE opinions. I am a very opinionated person. I think opinions are a wonderful way to start great conversations and debates.
My main problem is now with the internet you can be anonymous. People say things they normally wouldn’t and think it’s okay because no one knows who they are.
It makes people think their opinions and thoughts are way more important than they really are. I mean, how important are we really in the scheme of things. Do I have opinions about celebs? Yes. Do I really think me posting my opinion all over the internet and attacking people that question my opinion is going to do anything? Do I really think that me expressing my opinion on Twitter, Facebook or blogs will change anything that is going on in lives of people I never met? NO. I can tell you what HAS come out of it..I have found people that have like opinions and thoughts similar to mine. I have actually defended them on different social websites although I have never met them. I have found sites that have mature debates and try only to post factual things. I hardly frequent the hate sites any more, they turn my stomach. Some times my curiosity does get the better of me. Same reason, although I feel guilty, I crack open the cover of InTouch and Us Weekly. Curiosity. I am human after all.
I think the internet give false security and an outlet to channel negativity. No one is safe. No one is exempt. It makes people think they can judge and not be judged themselves.
I feel bad for people in the public eye nowadays. Nothing is sacred or private. Children of celebrities used to be off limits, but not any more.
Yes I do love to see pics of celebs little ones, but not at the expense of the child being scared! My new favorite celeb child is Gwen Stefani’s son. He recently told the paps if they took pictures of him he would bite their butt. LOL Another time he asked the paps if they could see his boobies. Too funny.
